Terms of Service

The short version

Don't use the App to break the law or hurt people. The Explore feature shows publicly-available meme templates from third-party sources — we don't curate them, and some may not be to your taste. You're responsible for what you make. Apple and Google handle the heavy lifting on subscriptions and payments. The full version follows.

1. Who's behind this

MemeLabz is operated by [ENTITY]. By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old. If your platform's app store sets a higher minimum (Apple's content rating may, depending on region), that higher minimum applies.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use the App to:

• Create content that is illegal in your jurisdiction.
• Create content that depicts the sexual abuse of a minor — full stop, ever.
• Harass, threaten, or incite violence against any specific person.
• Infringe someone else's copyright, trademark, or right of publicity in a way that's not protected by fair use, parody, or commentary.
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App, except as the law allows.
• Hammer our backend with bots or scripts.

We can suspend or cut off your access if we reasonably believe you're breaking these rules.

4. Your content is yours

Anything you make with the App belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of your memes.

That said: meme creation often involves images you didn't take. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to use any image you put into the App — whether through ownership, licensing, fair-use parody, or another lawful basis. Fair-use rules vary by jurisdiction; when in doubt, ask a lawyer or stick to images you own.

5. The Explore feature and third-party content

The Explore feature shows publicly-available meme templates pulled from third-party sources (such as Imgflip's top templates and Memegen.link). We don't create, curate, or moderate this content. It comes "as-is" from the upstream sources, and may include images that are crude, edgy, or not to everyone's taste.

If you find specific content offensive, don't use it. If you believe content shown in the App violates someone's rights or the law, email support@memelabz.app and we'll review it. We're not the publisher of third-party meme templates and don't accept liability for content sourced from third parties.

6. Subscriptions and payments

MemeLabz Premium is an optional subscription. Apple and Google handle billing through their stores; their terms apply to your purchase.

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• Manage and cancel from your App Store or Google Play account settings — not in our App.
• Refunds go through Apple or Google. We can't process refunds directly.

7. Free tier ads

Free users may need to watch a rewarded video ad to use AI text removal. Ads are served by Google AdMob. By using the free tier, you consent to seeing those ads.

8. Our trademarks

The MemeLabz name, logo, and visual design are ours. These Terms don't give you permission to use them outside of normal App use.

9. Third-party services

The App relies on Google Vision, SerpAPI, Replicate, Supabase, RevenueCat, and Google AdMob. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you use App features that hit those services. We're not responsible if a third-party service is down or changes its behavior.

10. No warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it'll always work, that AI results will be perfect, or that it's fit for any particular purpose. Use it at your own risk.

11. Limited liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost profits, lost data, or lost time — that come out of your use of the App. If somehow we are held liable for something, our total liability won't exceed the greater of (a) what you paid us in the last 12 months or (b) USD $50.

12. Indemnification

If a third party comes after us because of something you did with the App (you uploaded an image you didn't have rights to, you used the App for something it's not for, etc.), you agree to cover the costs.

13. Termination

You can stop using the App and delete your account whenever. We can suspend or cut off access if you break these Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION]. Disputes go to the courts of [JURISDICTION] and you agree to that jurisdiction.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. When we do, the date at the top changes and you'll see a notice in the App. If you keep using the App after a change, you've accepted the new version.
